Masjid Panglima Kinta Background:

Masjid Panglima Kinta was built in 1898 by Datoh Panglima Kinta Kulop Mohamed Yusuf bin Lassam (1884-1903) to commenmorate the demise of his beloved wife the same year. The architecture is British colonial, essentially a hybrid with Moghul and Neoclassical motifs. The Masjid is located at Jalan Masjid (formerly Hume Street), Kampung Kuchai, Ipoh, on the east side of the Kinta River close to the Sultan Iskandar Shah bridge.

Explore Masjid Panglima Kinta, Ipoh, through our Masjid Guided Tours and experience local Malay customs and traditions, including the wearing of tanjak headgear for men and the wearing of hijab headgear for ladies. Learn local history at our Panglima Kinta Gallery and Jacques de Morgan “Exploring Perak in 1884″” Exhibitions”.
